In These Hills

Fresh Paint

Judith painted this image yesterday (8 x 14, oil on board).  Images like these capture both the inherent beauty of the place along with the immense difficulty farmers had, and still have, making a living on this land.  Rugged and rocky, the parameters for farming in these parts are narrow.

  • Personally, I like this painting the best. I love the vibrant blue hue of the hills in the distance complimented by the golden grass in the foreground. I love the style in which the trees and vegetation is painted as I think it gives the overall painting more charector. May I please though say (and trying not to offend) that the position of the gate should have been a little bit more to the left. It may just be the photograph in this post, but I want to take the entire view and move it a little to the right and down if that makes any sense. Let me also add that I have no professional experience in painting...just a personal observation.
