Chris Brogan gave the marketer’s gathered at New Marketing Summit ‘08 (twitter search #nms08) an inside glimpse of his online work flow, pushing to the two large screens in the room a look at his laptop screen.  He showed us his FireFox browser opened to a variety of tools including his two email accounts

His main tools: google reader, twitter and twitter search, friend feed and word press.  He showed the power of google reader, stressing the use of shared items to develop a further rss content stream that can be shared with notes.  He shared how twitter search can function as a listening station, by demonstrating lead potential through two simple searches: “website down” and “golf.”

He then moved to friend feed and showed how it can take contact management to the next level.  As he put it, using friend feed like turning on the fire hose.  He finished his tour by taking us behind the scenes to the administration panel of is word press blog.   As word press users know, he stressed the ease of use and shared the effectiveness of the Zementa plug to provide creative commons photos and relevant blog post links.

Chris deserves credit for breaking into his tools live, just as he would sitting at home or at a cafe.  There’s an inherent risk in that (not sure how much the folks here sensed that), which is why Chris continues to blaze new paths.
