In yesterday’s comments, Kim (@lunasoul on twitter) asked if it’s worth it, meaning the work that’s unfolding here. It was a question that triggered a pretty passionate response from me, so I thought it would be interesting to reframe it and send it back out into the twitter stream this morning.
I micro-shared:
Interesting question came into my blog: is there value in what we do? (meaning, I think, blogging and micro sharing…what’s you answer?
The question was a direct hit, like a hoola popper placed directly over large mouth bass.

If by “value” you would include establishing connections with other people, then yes indeed.
I would say yes, on many levels. Personal and professional. Twtr blurs that line between the 2, but yes, yes, yes.
i think there is less value in what we do online than off line… this is as far as I can get. Then again, HOW do we measure value?
if I consideer value=money, then the answer, as far as I see is no, there is no value in microblogging.
value is perceived – there are blogs I visit regularly non-related to my industry. others, I wouldn’t spend 2 seconds on!
Absolutely. There’s always been value in just writing our thoughts (mind-dumping). Now, others can know us as we know ourselves.
I’d like to think there is value in what I blog
Twitter has enabled me to find & connect w/interesting people. To make new friends. Huge value in that.
I agree with @Charlie43, value is perceived- I find value in uniquely expressed thoughts, an individual’s idea. A blog. Where else?
Where do I find answers – someone’s blog! I found @dooce ’s blog looking for solutions to my daughter’s chronic constipation
How do you answer this question? My hope, Kim will keep pitching those questions…
