Dreams Unfolding
I’m in New Haven and I see four Iraqi ambassadors get out of a large SUV with tinted windows and rush into the Yale campus. At first it seems odd to me, but then I note a helicopter overhead providing additional protection. I continue to walk down along the water front before making my way onto the campus. Eventually I find a dining hall where the meeting I’m headed to will occur. My folks are in the lobby when I enter. Together we go into the room and three government officials are there. On the table are three bowls of shrimp, each a different exotic variety.
my response:
A new series seems underway with this dream, breaking from the faith theme of the previous series. Here the blending of the government with the academic, family with the government all in the context of high level intelligence meetings, opens to new areas for reflection.
A meal is served with the repetition of “three” highlighted in the types of shrimp. three is the number of a vector, and movement. Meals are opportunities to integrate complexes in dreams. The shrimp is appealing to me, making me want to engage in this process. The association of Iraqi ambassadors and my folks centers the contents on security, or the shadow side of that issue in Jungian thought, a provisional life.
