Like your take on social media testing one’s endurance. Someday’s I’m mentally “in” and enjoy the interactions — other days, I’d rather blog, bake bread or take the dogs for a walk down to the pond for some exercise. I think it’s the hermit in me — too much sharing and I start to shut down. Very nice blog — very interesting.

In the late 1970’s at age thirty-five , I took up running as a hobby. Every November I went to Newport to watch my runner friends compete in the Ocean State Marathon. Because the course was several circuits around a closed loop, I saw both the start and finish of the race. By jogging back and forth across the center of the loop, I could see everyone go by several times during the marathon. My friends’ efforts inspired me to try marathon running myself; and I did later succeed in completing five, although I never ran in the Rhode Island race.

Maybe we ran into each other in Newport.

Social Media – endurance test? that is very interesting pov – in a way you are right. Its like being 18 and partying all the time – right? its very addictive.

Nice post! I was the one who tagged Katinka and followed the links here. Love the concept of blogging about where you live. And I’m impressed that you actually went out and ran after being inspired by the Motreal Olympics. Most people get inspired and stop right there, you actually did something!
