I'm all about nerdiness. Keep those interesting, potentially abstruse references coming!

Hey Richard,
Very thought provoking, as always. You've highlighted an important motivation (for me, at least) behind engaging social media strategies - namely, giving expression to that which moves me, that which I think defines me. If a personal blog or twitter stream isn't authentic, I don't see the point.

Of course, knowing that (or at least believing it) doesn't mean authenticity naturally follows. It's one of the ironies for me, actually. I have no motive to be anything other than authentic, yet as I begin this effort (I'm in my first 4 months), I still find it difficult. I'm hopeful that's just the 'first day jitters' coming through. We'll see, I guess.

Thanks, as always.

Nice analogy. And I am with you in terms of perceiving social media as a new way of Being. It seems to force us to self-discovery and advancing our passions - a new understanding of maturity and the fulfilled life.
