It's a good question, and I'm not consistent in approach. Sometimes formal, sometimes just through the process of working with the dream material, sometimes just reflecting before dozing off. If relationship is actual, then over formality is not always the right answer. In the end, it an ability to ask the questions in a mind frame that will be open to any answer, which is why lucid dreaming is not the goal when working to activate the transcendent function.

As for the framing of intent, a formal approach: http://catskillcottageseed.com/2008/11/13/firing-intention/

i love what you're doing here;) i'm curious about your process. do you ask psyche just before you go to sleep? or inside a meditation? how is the intent planted?

When relationship is truly present, both sides are changed through the translation.

The analogy to translation is incredibly fertile, and a great contribution...
Thanks Detlef.

I like "a relationship can be established". Could one say: "Mutual understanding through translation"? Translation of dreams to our conscious control, which does not understand the language of the Self directly?

But what if our conscious control, ratio, is at once translator and recipient of translation?

Detlef Cordes´s last blog post..Consider yourself lucky
