Hey Zoe,
It’s a bit like the cockpit of the millennium falcon at first…but like all tools we learn to look for what’s useful. What excites me is that I’ll be able to learn how best to announce my posts in places like twitter, because you get to see the effect of those announcements in real time. The map of the world starts lighting up and to say its a thrill is an understatement…actually lets revise the analogy. The wordpress dashboard is the millennium falcon cockpit, and woopra is like mission control….

How do the visitors register? When you try to connect, what do you see? Am I a little anonymous blinking light in Japan, along with many others? Can you say “Hello” in thirty different languages or more? About your questions: Japan is feeling the bite of the recession in a big way. Life at the kindy is marvelous. Today I talked to my dear friend, Min, who was in a better place. It was so nice to hear him laugh and we blew each other kisses over the phone. Soothing happiness. <—-What I also wish for you. I’m finally feeling the desire to break my emotional and physical immobilization. What will come out of the chrysalis? Take care.

Hi Kim,
I think it’s kind of tricky, as visitors might feel a bit violated. I tried to connect with four of the fifty visitors when I posted this last night …none responded. None the less, seeing the world map light up from every continent was an awesome expeience of how global this social media activity truly is.
So how is Japan these days?
