Dancing Thirds by the Ocean

Relatively Calm Ocean

Dream – Watching three modern dancers, all women in mid-life, practicing for a performance.  Their movements inscribe a triangular space.  Then turning, I’m at the ocean where the waves are lapping calmly to the same rhythm as the dance piece as the tonal musical composition from the dance increases in volume.

Amplification:

The emphasis here on three, the Trinitarian, but as it is discovered in the dance or along the way.  Three also moves from the opposition of ‘two’ to a vector or direction, opening up the journey.

Turning, with the music of the dance increasing in volume, the Ocean which is often an image of the Unconscious in its totality.  The gentle lapping disposition perhaps balancing some of the turbulence that’s been experienced lately.

If this were an I Ching reading, the change described in the two images would be from three to four, from the way to wholeness.
