What are you after?

“Guess what? We’re all doing it wrong. Because we’re all doing it our own way, and it’s not always going to match the way you think it works best. And just like pretty much all of life, we’ll get there somehow.” Chris Brogan

What are you after?

The choices we have at our disposal to accomplish our tasks add up to practically an infinite amount of options.  We can get hung up on what tools, what platform, what balance… I’d just like to add my two cents to this important discussion.  The only way I have answered the question is to jump in, use the tools and see if they work for me.  I have many accounts that I no longer visit because they didn’t add anything to where I am headed.  Now for me to tell you not to use those systems is ludicrous, because they might perfectly provide for your needs.

So lets remember strategy.

If this were a University we’d spend time planning our courses, devising out path, leveraging access to the best professors.  (OK, some of us didn’t go to class, but lets pretend…)

Where do I want to go with these tools?

How can I use them better?

Why are some things working and others not?

When should I change my approach?

What am I missing?

If what you are doing works then by all means keep doing it.  My last question: can a few alterations of your practice make it work even better?

  • I enjoyed reading Chris' article...it was the first one I read this morning and I commented: Transparency + Authenticity = Naked Me (it probably should be "I") :)

I think that there is always room to learn and grow...don't we all want to garner the golden wheat from the festered chaff? :)

Thanks for another great post, Richard!

  • Hi Henoe, Thanks for sharing that great comment over here as well...It's straight to the point. It takes a posture of vulnerability to learn and explore.
