From My Reader…

I want to share the blogs that have become an important part of my practice.  Regular readers here know that Chris and Liz are the main “A” bloggers that I look to for guidance about Social Media.  I also read every post that JP at Confused in Calcutta and the team at Copyblogger produce.  Doc Searles always keeps me engaged as well.

What I want to focus on here though is the next tier, those folks that are committed and emerging like myself, who really make a difference in my world.  What’s of note is that none are beating the social media drum.  Instead they are digging into their niche content area.  So here they are (with no rhyme or reason for the order):

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the great work of my blogging partners over at Stepping Stone Partners where we have developed our tenth blog recently.

My reader currently sends me another 150 blogs that I keep an eye on, and I regularly share some of those posts in my Google Reader Shared Items page, but I thought you might want to know who my current must reads are.

  • richard, i was just catching up on the catskill cottage seed, which has become essential reading in my healthy media intake since meeting you on twitter, and was deeply moved to see that you'd included me here in your list of amazing people you check in with.

sometimes you don't know if you're just spitting in the wind with this practise, so thank you for that. it gives me higher aspirations knowing you're stopping by.

  • No disagreement there. Cheers to Twitter and the roots with a nice glass of ... water ... Guinness ?

  • Hey Richard,

its an honour to be mentioned in this post and I'm glad to be able to have a voice in this agora you have created here. Your blog is not only about reading and saying "Hear, hear, how true!", but about talking, disagreeing in an agreeable way (you know I like that) and creating like-minded relationships. I very much enjoy the continuous conversation - thank you.

We met through Twitter, so don't tell me Twitter is not a quality medium - although you know about my musings about possibly greener pastures.

  • Let's see Detlef, how could I disagree here? I guess I can't. The sense of the agora is really where I hope this activity we are all generating can blossom and take on a life of its own. As for twitter, I couldn't ask it to do more for me than it has. It has single-handedly been the engine that has driven the relationship building that is taking place. Certainly you need content of interest to sustain any thing, but without the marketplace of twitter, whats taking root here would simply not yet be.

What I like about your list is that I notice you have fostered connections within that group, linking bloggers and ideas with each other. I love being able to find new and intelligent blogs from your comment sections, or from a list like this.

I very much appreciate my spot on that list.

  • Richard,

My soul is aglow! That you would include me among these very fine and talented people is beyond my expected want! :~)

I still cannot recall exactly how we connected (consciousness begets consciousness) but I am ever so grateful for your influence and mentoring.

    Best Always,
    Henie

  • bravo richard

you are doing such an amazing job of acting as a hub for the collective conciousness that is evolving in the world wide web.

the confluence of thought and image that you bring together is truly dreamlike...you do Jung and Campbell proud!

and thanks for the mention! very happy to be on your 2nd tier list.

  • Now Chas, the second tier is my "A" list...

  • Jay

Saw this on twitter- came over expecting to catch a glimpse at some great new sites to check out...and then I saw I was included, and was blown over. Thank you Richard for including me here. I have to say that I have a great deal to check out today. Jeb put it perfectly: you are definitely "A" list in my book too. Thanks friend.

  • Wow, Richard, what a gift to be mentioned on that list of yours. Some of them are on my radar as well, but many are not. But that will certainly change now.

Thank you for the nod my friend. You've quite honestly played a very important role in my presence on the web, and I'm extremely grateful for your influence. You're on my A list without a doubt.

    Cheers.
