So I’m finally taking the plunge thanks to @Robert_Banghart who pointed out to me the incredible search functionality of FriendFeed.  Wierd how we can be looking at something and never really see it.

For months I’ve been feeding content into the FriendFeed without being a participant.  Then, when I went and looked around tonight thanks to Robert’s prompting, nearly 500 folks have subscribed to my feed.

There’s a lot to look at.  The bookmarklet tool in FriendFeed is so super easy to use it’s almost scary.  And the advanced search dashboard really blows me away.

All night I’ve been poking into the various aspects of this tool.  As I heard Chris Brogan explain last week, it’s kind of like looking at the backside of a really amazing wide screen tv with all sorts of places to plug thing in.  I also recall Chris mentioning at the turn of the year that rooms, or velvet roped areas I think he called them, would come to the fore soon.

Then I went and started exploring the rooms and how thy work.  My mind immediately began to envision what they could be.  In the end, I only really learn to use these tools by jumping into the deep end of the pool.  So I created a place to share in a more casual way than we do on this blog, yet in a more focused and perhaps a more sustained way then we do on twitter.  I’m calling it the Archetypal Garage.  Join me?

  • Thanks for the heads up on FriendFeed. I'd heard of it, but hadn't checked it out. I've now registered, had a very quick look around - and am now also subscribed to the Archetypal Garage. :-)

This journey that began for me with Facebook and Twitter less than a month ago has been an amazing one.

I'm now also blogging, I've subscribed to various blogs through NetVibes ... and have today joined in with FriendFeed.

While I'm already finding it hard to keep up with everything, It's certainly a wonderful ride so far, and will no doubt continue to remains so. :-)
