The value of acting out of the \"vocation\" frame is that it tends to
spring from our deepest desires and not the \"end in itself.\" Of
course, many vocations get derailed in disillusionment, so that brings
its own set of pitfalls, but I agree, it a better mode to live out of
and it very much how I'm treating the latest shift in my lift.

I sometimes orbit around the problem.. going into phases where I'm super focused on developing one or another attribute relative to one or another aim.. I used to be really really bad that way.. some of which was kind of a compensation thing.. but as I can get older I'm less motivated that way... and sometimes I think I should be more motivated that way! Still, there's the feeling like "well, if I can find some success then that can facilitate this other stuff," As if you were Indian and saw the point as retirement.

Mostly the solution for me is to try and cultivate a whole self.. To try and aim for a situation where I have balance between trying to achieve and trying to just.. be sorta.. or trying to make achievement my bliss.. or to make the task I'm going on the thing that's like.. in doing it sorta resonates with why I'm on this planet.. like work as a vocation kinda.
