IMG01829-20090808-1047I’m attending Podcamp Boston 4 this weekend where the theme is What’s Next? and all the sessions are built around questions.  The underlying principles and rules that shape this un-conference are simple and clear:

Law of two feet: a rule which mirrors our online behavior, if your not getting what you are looking for, then get up and move. It’s the same as our practice with the mouse, quickly we click on on the back button if we do not find what we are looking for.

Law of null space: All space is usable for networking and conversations and the organizers encourage participants to break out whenever and wherever they want.. This mirrors our ability to interact engage across a variety of platforms on-line.

The challenge of keeping up with the changing climate in social media, a concern I recall Louis Gray define as tuning into the signal amidst all the white noise, remains a major concern as platforms come and go and needs to be well positioned grow.

In the end, what’s clarifying as I listen to challenges folks face swimming amidst the emerging technology is staying true to their voice and mission while making sure the show doesn’t pass them by.
