In most fields the concept is professional development. Take a seminar or attend a conference and get an overview of developments in any given field, or focus in on a specific topic so that you gain a new level of expertise.
I’ve attended quite a few of events relating to social media and the new tech types over the last twelve months and each and every one provided unexpected benefits. Moving forward (mainly due to my upcoming studies at the Jung Institute of New York) I’ll be scaling back my attendance.
But two events, Podcamp and Wordcamp will remain in my upcoming rotation as they provided the most flexibility to suit my learning needs as well as providing quality networking opportunities.
So Podcamp Philly and Wordcamp New York are both appearing on my radar…see you there?
